VOLT X / ELECTRICAL ESTIMATING

Electrical Estimating Support for General Contractors

FOR GENERAL CONTRACTOR / PRECONSTRUCTION / UNITED STATES & CANADA

General contractors can ask VOLT X to review an electrical scope for budgeting, quantity development or a defined bid-review assignment. Specify the project stage and required use of the estimate; VOLT X’s service scope is electrical estimating, not a whole-project general construction estimate.

01 / A CLEAR ENGAGEMENT

State the decision the estimate must support

Explain whether you need an early electrical budget, a quantity breakdown or review of an existing electrical estimate. Provide the document maturity and the qualifications required by the owner’s process. An estimate based on incomplete design needs an explicit assumptions and exclusions register.

02 / A CLEAR ENGAGEMENT

Draw boundaries between electrical and other packages

Identify owner-supplied equipment, utility work, controls, mechanical electrical connections and specialist systems that require coordination. Assign who confirms each interface. Do not assume that calling a package electrical resolves every trade overlap or design responsibility.

03 / A CLEAR ENGAGEMENT

Make comparison on a common basis

When reviewing electrical proposals, identify the drawing/addendum issue, included systems, allowances, alternates and exclusions being compared. Clarify whether the assignment is a scope review or full re-estimating. A comparison needs agreed inputs; it does not independently verify every bidder’s price or capability.

04 / A CLEAR ENGAGEMENT

Agree the confidentiality and sharing permissions

Confirm that you are authorized to provide the drawings and any third-party pricing information. Start with a non-confidential project summary and arrange secure sharing. The engagement must define what information VOLT X receives and the work it is asked to perform.

05 / A CLEAR ENGAGEMENT

Keep procurement and final selection with your team

Your organization controls tender administration, subcontractor selection, commercial approvals and construction commitments. Electrical estimating support is a decision input. It does not provide a licensed engineering opinion, jurisdictional approval or a guarantee of the resulting construction cost.

COMMON BUYER QUESTIONS

Before you commission the work.

Can VOLT X estimate the full building across all trades?

The offered service scope is electrical estimating. This page does not offer whole-project multi-trade estimating.

Can you compare electrical bids?

Discuss a defined review of electrical scope, assumptions and exclusions using an agreed document basis. Confirm the precise review scope first.

Is an early electrical budget a guaranteed tender price?

No. Its usefulness depends on document maturity and agreed assumptions. Final pricing and procurement decisions remain with the customer.
