How Growing Electrical Contractors Can Transition from Outsourced to In-House Estimating
FIELD NOTES / GROWING CONTRACTOR
Practical questions to help electrical contractors choose and brief estimating support. Confirm project suitability, scope and capacity before commissioning.
Define the future operating model
Choose who will estimate, review and approve bids internally, and when the change should occur.
Check the account pathway
VOLT X holds and pays for the account under the monthly services agreement until you request a transfer. Agree the handoff, access and project-record handling before the transfer takes place.
Confirm data ownership and portability
Identify which historical records can remain accessible, in what format, and under which retention and confidentiality terms.
Agree subscription and billing
A direct Xkey AiE subscription needs agreed terms. Do not assume the VOLT X monthly fee converts into a software subscription automatically.
Rehearse the handoff
Verify administrative control, staff access, delegated VOLT X permissions, revocation and audit history before relying on the transition.
Keep overflow optional
Agree future VOLT X support separately, with defined capacity and review responsibilities.
